anemochory
Anemochory refers to dispersal of
diaspores by wind. Plants adapted to anemochory often have
diaspores with long
hairs (e. g. in
Salix – Willow), wing-like structures (e. g. in
Acer – Maple) or which are very small (e. g. in
Epipactis – Helleborine and many other Orchidaceae – Orchids).
