calyx in the Asteraceae – Daisy
family. It is inserted above the
hypogynous ovary and may consist of (
pinnate)
hairs (e. g. in
Tragopogon – Goat's-beard),
bristles (e. g. in
Centaurea – Knapweed), hooks (e. g. in
Bidens – Beggarticks) or small
scales (e. g. in
Leucanthemum – Daisy).
