venation

The term 'venation' refers to the entity of veins (vascular bundles, nerves) of a leaf. Among other, pinnate venation (reticulate venation) (in most dicots, e. g. in Quercus – Oak Tree), parallel-venation (in most Monocots, e. g. in Deschampsia caespitosa – Tufted Hair-grass) and dichotomous venation (bifurcate venation) (in many Ferns and Gymnosperms, e. g. Ginkgo) can be distinguished.
