In an accessory fruit (comprising aggregate fruits and multiple fruits), the diaspore consists not only of the mature carpels (i. e. the fruit in a strict sense), but also of further tissue (e. g. the floral-axis in Fragaria – Strawberry or the whole infructescence in Morus – Mulberry).
