Labiate flower have fused petals and are zygomorphic. The perianth-leaves form an upper- and lower-lip (e. g. in Lamium – Deadnettle or other Nettle family members). Occasionally, the upper-lip is helmet-shaped (cf. galea) (e. g. in Aconitum – Monkshood) or only 1 lip is developed (mostly the lower-lip) (e. g. in Ajuga – Bugle).
