opposite phyllotaxy

With opposite (decussate) phyllotaxy, each node has 2 leaves and the leaves on consecutive nodes are almost always arranged in a 90° angle to each other (decussate phyllotaxy, e. g. in Lamium – Deadnettle and other Lamiaceae – Nettle family member) (cf. also alternate phyllotaxy, whorled phyllotaxy).
