Diaspores are the propagules (dissemination units) of plants. Diaspores can either be seeds (e. g. in Papaver – Poppy), fruits (e. g. in Vaccinium myrtillus – Bilberry), aggregate fruits (e. g. in Fragaria – Strawberry) or infructescences (e. g. in Tilia – Lime). Frequently, also further organs or appendages are part of the diaspore (e. g. prophylls in Atriplex – Saltbush diaspores).
